How we produce BabyLingo content

This page describes the process behind the articles, guides, and tools on babylingo.io: where the information comes from, how we use artificial intelligence, who is responsible for the content, and how we fix mistakes.

What we cover

BabyLingo publishes educational content on pregnancy, postpartum, newborn care, and child development in the first years, in English and Brazilian Portuguese. We write for mothers, fathers, and caregivers — not for children. The goal is to explain clearly what guidelines and specialists say about the most common questions of this stage. We do not provide individual care, diagnosis, or treatment.

How a piece of content is produced

  1. Topic and research. Every topic starts from a research document that gathers the references consulted on the subject.
  2. AI-assisted writing. Artificial intelligence models structure the text and draft the English and Portuguese versions from that research.
  3. Editorial curation. Orbbis's editorial curation sets the topics, research sources, and writing guidelines, follows what gets published, and corrects or updates articles when needed.

Our content is produced with editorial curation and by consulting specialized references and scientific sources where applicable; every article must present its own references.

Sources and references

References vary by topic. On health subjects we prioritize public health agencies, medical societies, reference hospitals and institutions, and the scientific literature. On practical day-to-day topics — routines, baby gear, setting up the home — we also consult specialized parenting publications. Every article lists the references it used at the end, with links, so you can check what was said against the original source.

Use of artificial intelligence

We use AI to cover more topics and keep both languages in parity: it helps organize the research, structure the text, and draft the English and Portuguese versions.

AI can get things wrong — misread a source, oversimplify, or repeat information that has gone out of date. That is why every article carries its own references, and why we keep a channel open for corrections.

Recommendations that vary by country

Health guidance is not always the same in the United States, Brazil, and other countries — vaccination schedules are the clearest example. Each article's references show where each recommendation comes from. When in doubt, follow your country's health system and the professional who cares for you.

Tools and calculators

The site's tools — such as the due date, ovulation, and pregnancy weight calculators — make estimates from reference formulas and tables. The result is educational: it does not replace tests, clinical assessment, or your care team's guidance. The data you type into the tools is not used to target ads and is not sent to our audience analytics.

Dates and updates

Every article shows its publication date. When it goes through a substantial revision — a new guideline, a content correction, a rewritten section — it also shows the date of that update. Cosmetic fixes, such as typos or links, do not change the date.

Corrections

Found a mistake, outdated information, or a reference that does not say what the text claims? Email babylingo@orbbis.com.br with:

  • the page address (URL);
  • the passage in question;
  • what is wrong;
  • if possible, a source that supports the correction.

We review every report. When it holds up, we correct the content — in both languages when the article exists in both. Corrections that change a piece of health guidance are noted in the article itself, with the date and a summary of what changed.

Advertising and editorial independence

babylingo.io may show Google AdSense ads to help keep the content free. Ads are labeled as advertising and kept apart from the content, buttons, and tool results. Advertisers do not choose topics, review texts, or influence conclusions or recommendations. An ad shown on the site does not mean BabyLingo or Orbbis recommends the advertised product or service.

Our own product

BabyLingo is also a subscription app developed by Orbbis. Articles and tools include invitations to try the app, always identified as such; they do not change the informational content. The site's content has no affiliate links or sponsored content — if that changes, it will be disclosed on each piece.

Limits of our content

BabyLingo content is informational and does not replace consultation, diagnosis, or treatment by health professionals. We do not answer individual medical questions by email. If you notice warning signs or face an emergency, seek a health service immediately or call your local emergency number (911 in the US).

Who is responsible for the content
